Moravian Sugar Cake

The Moravians settled in North America from what is now The Czech Republic and Slovakia by way of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in the mid-ish 1700s. So, what is Moravian Sugar Cake, exactly?

It is a sweet dough cake that is enhanced with butter, sugar, and cinnamon. It is traditionaly served as an Easter morning breakfast treat, but is an excellent coffee cake year round. This Moravian tradition is extremely yummy!

When it comes to baking, I always find a reason ( which sometimes is odd one! ) to give something a try! And this coffe cake is the case...I decided to go for it just because that the recipe calls for mashed potato..nothing to do with the history or the fact of what the cake really is!

The recipe could be found here.

Nutella Krispy Bars

We got invited over for dinner by a friend of mine and there were few families getting together including kids..Typically, I volunteered myself to take care of dessert and these bars are my choice to treat the young kids !

The recipe could be found here. ( Note : I used cashew nuts and dark chocolate for toppings )

Smoky Beef Stew

The weekend was coming and I looked for something to cook for a Saturday family dinner like usual. This time, the winner is this easy , yet tasty beef stew !

The recipe could be found here. ( Note : I reduced red wine vinegar to 1 tbsp. and seasoned the stew at the end with 2 vegetable stock cubes plus some salt & pepper , then served it along with tortilla, sour cream and shredded iceberg)
