Oatmeal Rum Raisin Cookie Bars

Oatmeal is good...raisin is good..rum ??..oh even better!!..so these bars are a combination of my favorite things..

The original recipe from Nicole of bakingbites doesn't have rum in it..but I added some to jazz it up and the result didn't let me down !

Best Drop Biscuits

This is not the first time I've made these biscuits..and there are more than one source that i've seen it posted on ! I firstly saw it on Joe's site (culinary in the desert) a while ago and I gave it a try twice..but I didn't manage to get a clumpy butter and buttermilk mixture as stated in the recipe both time( the tastes were still great though) so I just left it unrevised...and went ahaed to try something else !

Then recently I saw it again on everybody likes sandwiches which got a link to the site that shows some photos of the method and I then found out how the clum in the buttermilk mixture is supposed to be..and I decided to have a go..for the third time!!

It's flawlessly done this time...I gave some away for a party hosted by a friend of mine, people ate and said it's like KFC's...wow wow wow...I took it seriously as a success ! lol..

Tahinli

It's been a long while since the last time I got my blog updated on the blogger !! I've ,in fact, made numbers of baked goods but I just didn't bother to get it published here...only have done it on my other blog where I was settled down to begin with.

Now, it's time to be back and it's nice to begin with something excellent which I've found on this site ( thank burekaboy for the fabulous recipe !). The look of this bread really got my attention , besides its ingredients like tahini or orange flower water that are totally new to me!!

Only one thing I didn't follow the original recipe is to omit mahlep.. it's not that I really wanted to but I couldn't manage to find it anywhere in HK ( within a short timing!)..

Speaking of the outcome, it's peculiarly nice to me and I am , no doubt, very pleased with what I've got ! If you are a fan of sesame seed..this is something you shouldn't miss out!!
